Cloud Sync & Backup

Your Saved Tabs, on Every Chrome You Use

Save a session on your work computer and restore it on your laptop. Zen Tabz offers optional encrypted cloud sync for the collections you choose. It is off by default, and you do not need an account.

How Zen Tabz sync works

Local by default, synced by choice

Out of the box, everything Zen Tabz saves stays in your browser. There is no account and no server involved. Cloud sync is a switch you turn on yourself, and when it is on, only the collections and sessions you choose are uploaded. If you never enable it, your saved tabs never leave your device.

What syncs between devices

When you enable sync, your saved collections travel with you: the tabs inside them, their names, and the Chrome tab groups and pinned tabs they contain. That means the arrangement you build on one machine is the arrangement you restore on another, rather than a flat list of links.

  • Saved collections and their tabs.
  • Chrome tab groups, with names and colours.
  • Pinned tabs, restored in their pinned state.
  • Named sessions you can restore on a second computer.

Why keep it off until you need it

Most people use Zen Tabz on a single computer, and for them sync is unnecessary. Turning it on only when you actually move between machines keeps your data in one place by default. If you stop using sync, you can turn it back off; your local collections remain.

Cloud Sync Features

01

Off by Default

Your saved tabs stay in your browser unless you explicitly turn sync on.

02

Encrypted

Data is encrypted during transfer and in storage, so it is not readable in transit.

03

Selective Sync

Choose which collections and sessions to sync instead of uploading everything.

04

No Account Required

Sync does not require a login or a subscription. Zen Tabz is free either way.

05

Session Fidelity

Tab groups and pinned tabs restore on the second device, not just the links.

06

Works With Everything

Sync covers tabs, sessions, workspaces, and imported bookmarks alike.

Save your open tabs into a named collection as usual. Nothing has left your device yet.

4

Open the other device

On your second computer, your synced collections appear in Zen Tabz.

5
